Gary Hector, founder, singer, guitarist and producer, together with his Rock 'n' Roll band, celebrated their 15th anniversary of existence on August 20, at Little Carib Theatre, Woodbrook. Over 250 fans turned out for the occasion. The celebration was also a fund-raising event for jointpop's upcoming tour to the UK from September 8 to October 13, where the country's premiere R&R band would be performing at 20 shows across the United Kingdom specifically in England, Wales and Scotland. The anniversary celebration began with a skit based on Gary Hector ignoring family life and only focusing on nothing other than R&R music. This was followed by his singing performances. The highlight of Hector's performance came when he sang popular items like Love Less Street, Monday Morning Love Situation, Souls Going Cheap, and After Half Past Nine, causing fans to rave, dance and sing along to the music.
The jointpop aggregation included Damon Homer (guitar); Phil Hill (keyboard); Dion Camacho (bass); Jerome Girdharri (drums); and, Hector. Hector and Homer are the original members of jointpop, while everyone else has been with the outfit for at least five years each.Coming from several different rock bands before agreeing on working together, the members of jointpop are very close friends, usually performing at different night spots, clubs, bars and all venues that facilitate rock bands.Jointpop has a great following of fans locally and internationally, using Facebook and Twitter as media of communication and advertising.
