Not since the aftermath of the 1990 insurrection has the people of T&T had to live under the restrictions we do during the ongoing state of emergency. There is need for stress relief and the best medicine is laughter. Randy Glasgow Productions (RGP) is making use of the revised curfew hours to provide just what the people need through comedy icon, Learie Joseph State of Emergency Comic Relief Tour that will see 25 shows taking place in communities throughout Trinidad. The multifaceted comedian/actor Joseph, has written lots of new material exploring certain people's misadventures since the SoE was declared in the middle of August. The last time RGP produced a tour featuring Joseph was about two years ago and every one of those 55 shows were sold out.
Joining Joseph on his SoE Comic Relief Tour are veteran stand-up comedian Tommy Joseph, Saint The Drunken Master, actress Hot Like Fire Delores Alexander, comedian, singer, dancer Kenneth Seepersad and other top stand-up comedians and comedic actors. Along with shows at all the major venues in the country, RGP is at present scouting other appropriate venues in Princes Town, Siparia, Point Fortin, Preysal, Mayaro, Toco, Penal, Santa Cruz, Rio Claro, Palo Seco, La Brea, Tabaquite, Talparo, Manzanilla, Matura, Diego Martin, Carenage and Barataria to bring SoE comic relief close to the people. All shows will begin at 5 pm sharp, ending at 8 pm, to ensure patrons get to their respective homes before the 11 pm curfew. Patrons will be allowed to enter the venues with their own food and drinks in plastic bottles only and ticket prices will begin at only $90.
