From Jamaica to Point Fortin, international reggae sensation Jah Cure created musical madness on Friday at Club Legend, Point Fortin. The musical icon, who some hail as the best reggae superstar after Bob Marley, performed for just over an hour, rendering some spirited performances. From as early at 10 pm fans gathered at the venue for one of the biggest events to hit the Borough. Party promoter and local reggae artiste Ten Commandmentz said that Jah Cure was the most popular international figure to grace an event in Point Fortin. Around 1.30 am Jah Cure and his entourage entered the building causing fans, both male and female, to call out his name repeatedly.
Half and hour later when MC Mya announced the artiste's entrance onto the stage, fans burst out into a loud roar of appreciation. Though a heavy contingent of police and army personnel stood in front of the stage, Jah Cure still came to his adoring fans, holding their hands in gratitude of their warm reception. Hearts melted and couples held each other closely and danced as he performed his 2008 hit Miles Away. The women sang along to his romantic songs such as Unconditional Love, Longing For and Only You. Others songs performed on the night included, Prison Walls, Save the World and Call on Me. As he ended his stint, fans called for an encore performance and suitable to their request, he rendered his 2010 hit single, Before I Leave. Also rendering good tunes was local budding reggae singer Gounzman along with DJs Judah International, alongside Killa B and Juicy.
