Lovers of a wide range of excellent music will be delighted to hear of the superb concert to be presented next month, on October 9, at the Trinity cathedral, Port-of-Spain. Invited by the Friends of the Cathedral, the musical feast will be presented by the Eastern Performing Arts Fraternity as the first in a year- long series of festive voicings. Proceeds are to support the restoration of the Anglican cathedral and its unique pipe organ, which has led worship there since 1823.
Divas Live will feature international singers Anne Fridal, Hermina Charles, and Renee Solomon. The supporting cast for this gala performance includes the Bishop Anstey High School Choir led by Lorraine Granderson, the Nehilet Blackman All Girls' Band, and a wide range of music festival vocal and instrumental winners. For the occasion, the cathedral will be transformed by special lighting and other appropriate theatrical effects.
Scheduled to start at 6.15 pm, the single performance gala will be hosted by Claudia Pegus, and Annemarie Ganness. Tickets priced at $150 for adults and $25 for children are available at Crosbys in St James, all outlets of Kenny's Sports, and at the office of Trinity Cathedral.
