Lovers of a wide range of ex­cel­lent mu­sic will be de­light­ed to hear of the su­perb con­cert to be pre­sent­ed next month, on Oc­to­ber 9, at the Trin­i­ty cathe­dral, Port-of-Spain. In­vit­ed by the Friends of the Cathe­dral, the mu­si­cal feast will be pre­sent­ed by the East­ern Per­form­ing Arts Fra­ter­ni­ty as the first in a year- long se­ries of fes­tive voic­ings. Pro­ceeds are to sup­port the restora­tion of the An­gli­can cathe­dral and its unique pipe or­gan, which has led wor­ship there since 1823.

Di­vas Live will fea­ture in­ter­na­tion­al singers Anne Fridal, Her­mi­na Charles, and Re­nee Solomon. The sup­port­ing cast for this gala per­for­mance in­cludes the Bish­op Anstey High School Choir led by Lor­raine Grander­son, the Ne­hilet Black­man All Girls' Band, and a wide range of mu­sic fes­ti­val vo­cal and in­stru­men­tal win­ners. For the oc­ca­sion, the cathe­dral will be trans­formed by spe­cial light­ing and oth­er ap­pro­pri­ate the­atri­cal ef­fects.

Sched­uled to start at 6.15 pm, the sin­gle per­for­mance gala will be host­ed by Clau­dia Pe­gus, and An­nemarie Gan­ness. Tick­ets priced at $150 for adults and $25 for chil­dren are avail­able at Cros­bys in St James, all out­lets of Ken­ny's Sports, and at the of­fice of Trin­i­ty Cathe­dral.
