Hold­ing claims of be­ing "the old­est bar in the City of Port-of-Spain," Brook­lyn Bar re­opened on No­vem­ber 11 (11:11:11) at its orig­i­nal site, cor­ner Car­los and Roberts Streets in Wood­brook.New own­er Ronald Moses, who is al­so own­er of the pop­u­lar Ari­api­ta Av­enue hot spots Co­co Lounge and Cro­bar, proud­ly pro­claimed that the build­ing is more than 100-years-old as he heaped praise on in­te­ri­or decor artist Jess­lyn Sab­ga, own­er of Jaid's In­te­ri­or De­sign.

Jess­lyn dis­closed that she was as­sist­ed by Leeann Carter and Tara Bhag­gan.This team suc­ceed­ed at main­tain­ing the vin­tage ar­chi­tec­tur­al ap­pear­ance of the build­ing.At the open­ing were many cor­po­rate folk, in­clud­ing Carib Brew­ery chair­man An­drew Sab­ga; Carib's Miguel Mar­quez and Ar­lene Fran­cis; Bry­den's David Fran­co, Ja­son Charles and Joseph Robin­son; Reza Mo­hammed, David Pan­tin, Ri­car­do Bideshi, and for­mer Strike Squad foot­baller Mau­rice Al­ibey. Al­so in at­ten­dance were Syd­ney and Glo­ria Am­mon.

Apart from the vi­va­cious Carib Girls serv­ing ice cold beers from what Moses de­scribed as "the largest drinks chiller in T&T" (with a ca­pac­i­ty for 300 cas­es of beer), the oth­er pop­u­lar high­light on the evening was pip­ing hot dou­bles served by George Dou­bles in­side the bar.

While the new venue was be­ing ren­o­vat­ed a num­ber of neigh­bour­ing res­i­dents voiced con­cerns how­ev­er since its re­open­ing.These con­cerns have been ap­peased by Moses who keeps the deci­bel lev­els on mu­sic quite low. In fact, a few of Brook­lyn Bar's neigh­bours were not on­ly in at­ten­dance at the open­ing but have since be­come reg­u­lar cus­tomers.
