Kerron Brown, also known as Junior K "the university prince" is the founder/director of College Mania TV Ltd, which seeks to bridge the gap between the Government and the youth.The company hopes to inspire young people to come off the streets and focus on education or secure employment.
The bigger picture is to generate a society where young people's lives are not influenced by drugs and gang violence and where they have strong spiritual and moral values, and do not have to resort to a life of crime. Seeing young people empowered and educated about critical life choices that affect their health, livelihoods, homes, education and families is among it's objectives.
College Mania TV, an initiative of College Mania TV Ltd, is the only 30-minute nationally syndicate television programme in T&T that focuses on the minds of tertiary and secondary school students and showcases their views on issues of national importance.The show expects to attract viewers at schools, universities and other tertiary education institutions across the nation, and features the top hip-hop, R&B, reggae and soca songs in the country, celebrity interviews, controversial/national issues, new artist showcases and exclusives.
It will also feature promotional giveaways, comedy skits and local trivia.Young people are at the core of sustainable development of any nation, and it is vital that they are provided with a platform to highlight their views and opinions without the pressure induced by parents and adults who may restrict their level of expression.
College Mania TV hopes to provide this avenue, with two hosts that are well established and respected personalities within the secondary and tertiary education fraternity.The show will be aired on Sundays on CNC3 at 5 pm, and reruns on Wednesdays at 4.05 pm.
