Scores of women flocked in­to MAC's Gulf City branch last Wednes­day night as the in­ter­na­tion­al cos­met­ic gi­ant un­veiled its new col­lec­tion: Glit­ter and Ice.

As the MAC hol­i­day train rolled in, theThe new and ex­cit­ing col­lec­tion, in­spired by cham­pi­on US ice skater Alex Weir, en­cap­su­lat­ed every­thing glit­ter­ing and glam­orous about that celebri­ty look.

The event at­tract­ed a mas­sive crowd of MAC lovers ea­ger to get their hands on the new line. So an­tic­i­pat­ed was the launch that some pa­trons even ar­rived ear­ly, wait­ing for the mo­ment when the doors opened.

Cus­tomers were daz­zled by the glossy white snow globe pack­ag­ing that added to the so­phis­ti­ca­tion of MAC's most­ly black col­lec­tion, and some women lit­er­al­ly grabbed the items off the shelves. Among the favourites were the min­er­alised eye shad­ows, brush sets, daz­zle glass­es and fab­u­lous nail lac­quers to shake up the sea­son.

Shop­pers were served savoury hors d' oeu­vres lay­ered in lus­tre dust and sparkling cham­pagne in glit­ter rimmed glass­es.

A per­cent­age of the pro­ceeds from the VI­VA GLAM lip­sticks will go to­wards the MAC Aids Fund, VI­VA GLAM is cel­e­brat­ed every Fri­day at MAC out­lets and is avail­able in spe­cial pack­ag­ing for Glit­ter and Ice and is al­so part of the reg­u­lar line up.
