Stacey Sobers must keep pushing at the door, one day she will break it down. This beautiful southern singer must never give up, because she's on the threshold of great things. She must have patience. Her CD-My Land-comprises four songs; Work It, Break of Day, Look Meh and the title track. Produced by Sharlan Bailey, a musician who is making a name for himself in the industry. All the songs on this CD are exciting. I like break of day.
For booking, contact Gervon Abraham (683-5540), or Sobers at star@hotmail.com. Next Rise studio of Jermingham Avenue, Port-of-Spain, has figured prominently in this CD.
Raw fire is hot!
Timely advice from his mom, has worked for Raw Fire (Gary Hodge). "Step Up" was what his mother told him; he listened, and now those words guide his life. He wears them like a necklace. Raw Fire is not looking for anyone to work his miracles-he works them himself. As a super salesman he trods the streets selling his CDs. His CD, simply Raw Fire, is chock full of delightful songs, 11 in all. He is a fantastic songwriter. This CD is revolutionary and if a foreign producer gets it, the music could go places. It's really different. It's more geared for an international market. If you should see Raw Fire give him some support. He has an international product, and needs all the help he can get.
The writing machine that is Christophe
Christophe Grant, the writing machine is at it again, and has turned out a gem. Also a calypsonian of sorts, stage name Quasar, Christophe is well known for writing top songs, when he is not functioning as solicitor general. In 2012 he has written a gem for Alana Sinnette. Christophe's writing is getting better like old wine. My Haven, my home pulls at the heart strings. This song has a special quality, a simple plaintive cry of love for the land of the black, red and white. Christophe weaves a beautiful tapestry, touching on the beautiful Trini places and things. What a beautiful song. Junior "Ibo" Joseph does the arrangement.
SKHI should take it to the nex' level
Every year you could look forward to an exciting production for SKHI. It's amazing how this artiste remained at one level, although he's been out long before Swappi, Super Jigga TC, Shal Marshall and others. Maybe, soca to him is just a hobby, but I think it's big business and SKHI is among the best. His CD can't stay away is cast in the Trini vein and has that rambunctious quality. SKHI must step up his game, and not letting micking pretenders access soca's throne. I like this song like cooked food, but will those deejays give it a chance. It has Road March potential.
