The 12th annual Blink-bmobile-sponsored Central Bank All-Inclusive recently caused an unparalleled soca frenzy in downtown Port-Of-Spain. Under the patronage of the Governor of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago, the famous Carnival event certainly did not let down the fete connoisseurs with respect to ambience, delicacies and live entertainment.
The event committee pulled out all the stops in its efforts to provide a smooth flowing environment, where guests were not only encouraged to feel relaxed but to let the music move them while partaking in the numerous amenities offered at this one of a kind fete experience. Attendees had access to a vast selection of top shelf beverages and cocktail booths throughout the entire night. The assortment of cuisine consisted of wantons, spring rolls, Arabian gyros, BBQ ribs, bake and shark and a Central Bank Fete staple—stewed horse.
Corporate sponsor of the fete, Blink-bmobile, added their technological input, much to the delight of several Central Bank patrons. The company’s booth gave feters digital photo opportunities and the chance to get up close and personal with the latest smartphone and tablet devices such as the new Blackberry Playbook. Naturally, in the spirit of the season, the telecommunications entity also provided party favourites such as signature drinking cups and branded rags, which the soca fans used incessantly during the night’s performances.
Machel Montano HD headlined the fete’s cast of entertainers, which also included former Soca Monarchs JW and Blaze, electronic steelpan group Rhapsody Next Generation, Kes the Band and Kerwin Dubois. The incomparable Mr Fete thrilled the crowd with his wide catalogue of hits amassed over his 30 years in the music business. He made his intention to dominate 2012’s Carnival competitions clear, as he instructed the entire audience to the “Pump” their flags.
