Stephon Scott, bar man­ag­er, and Kar­li­na Per­me­ll, bar­tender, at the Mag­dale­na Grand Beach Re­sort (http://www.Mag­dale­na­Grand.com) in To­ba­go, took first and third place, re­spec­tive­ly, at the Ke­tel One Di­a­geo World Class Mixol­o­gy Com­pe­ti­tion. Scott, the win­ner of the Ke­tel One heat of the Di­a­geo Re­serve World Class Com­pe­ti­tion, will go on to com­pete against the win­ner of the John­nie Walk­er Blue La­bel heat and the win­ner of the Ron Za­ca­pa Cen­te­nario heat to be held in June for par­tic­i­pa­tion in the Di­a­geo Re­serve World Class Bar­tender of the Year Fi­nal. Scott's win­ning drink was the "White La­dy," a con­coc­tion made with Ke­tel One Vod­ka, lime juice, Grand Marnier and egg white, ac­cent­ed with cin­na­mon, nut­meg, rose petals and a straw­ber­ry/cher­ry berry blend. Per­me­ll took third place hon­ors with her "No­lets Love," a ren­di­tion of the clas­sic cock­tail Caipirosca. The bev­er­age fea­tured a per­fect bal­ance of Ke­tel One Vod­ka, fresh pome­gran­ate, grape­fruit juice and sug­ar mount­ed in a mar­ti­ni glass.

The Di­a­geo Re­serve World Class Com­pe­ti­tion is aimed to in­spire, ed­u­cate and in­crease aware­ness to bar­tenders about Re­serve brands in a cul­mi­na­tion of a three-wave com­pe­ti­tion. The three wave win­ners will com­pete in a fi­nal com­pe­ti­tion in June with the over­all win­ner go­ing on to con­tend in the Di­a­geo Re­serve World Class Bar­tender of the Year Fi­nal to be held in Ju­ly in Brazil with 48 coun­tries and over 10,000 con­tes­tants rep­re­sent­ed. "The en­tire staff at Mag­dale­na Grand Beach Re­sort would like to ex­tend a heart­felt con­grat­u­la­tions to Stephon and Kar­li­na on a grand per­for­mance at the Ke­tel One Di­a­geo World Class Mixol­o­gy chal­lenge," said Jo­erg Wick­i­halder, ex­ec­u­tive as­sis­tant man­ag­er of the re­sort.
