Local group, Lynchpin is well known in the underground

The Core is a collection of heavy metal bands from all over Trinidad that have one thing in common—venting their frustration. The night of June 2 at Rock of Ages, Ramsaran Street, Chaguanas will see the debut of melodic death metal troop, Silence Unheard. With original members Keron Namsoo, Joel Leung Chee and Seon Teelucksingh, all from south Trinidad, the members have used the music to blow off steam. Another band, The Escobar Project, has been devouring the underground for quite some time, and has a following of dedicated fans willing to do its bidding.

With the group’s experience centred around putting screaming fans in a daze after only the second song, the band has turned to originals, focusing on future recordings. Local group, Lynchpin, well known in the underground, has members hailing from bands of yesteryear—Necropollis, Overdose, Vox Deus and Krucifix. Playing only original compositions, the band now moves to another chapter of destructive power as it has upgraded its gear to a seven-string guitar and five-string bass attack. With its members known for their aggressive nature and “new breed” following, the band has stated its intentions to record and release a full-length album as early as next year.
