Anya’s fashion heralds T&T jubilee celebrations

As part of a diverse offering of events dedicated to celebrating Trinidad and Tobago’s 50 years of independence, tourism ambassador and winner of Project Runway season nine Anya Ayoung Chee, with support from the Tourism Development Company of Trinidad & Tobago (TDC) and Tobago House of Assembly Division of Tourism (THA), hosted a night of fashion and culture on June 6 in trendy West Village New York.
A release from Cheryl Andrews Marketing, the official US public relations firm for TDC, said the cultural extravaganza, themed Colour and Sound, featured Ayoung Chee’s 2012 summer collection, live entertainment and iconic local cuisine. Guests at the fashion gala included New York Consul Rudrawatee Nan Ramgoolam, Miami Consul General Dr Anil Ramnanan, Tourism Minister Rupert Griffith, chairman of TDC Rajiv Shandiliya and TDC deputy chairman Janelle Commissiong-Chow.
