Arts-in-Ac­tion, will host 50/25, an orig­i­nal per­for­mance put on by Word­smiths, fea­tur­ing UWI's Fes­ti­val Dance En­sem­ble, on Ju­ly 5, at 7 pm at the Learn­ing Re­source Cen­tre (LRC), Uni­ver­si­ty of the West In­dies, St Au­gus­tine. This per­for­mance is part of the Word­smiths in­volve­ment in the Con­tact­ing the World Fes­ti­val which will take place from Ju­ly 8-15 in Man­ches­ter, Eng­land. A con­tri­bu­tion of $50 or more is be­ing asked and can be made at the door. All pro­ceeds go to­wards off­set­ting the cost of trav­el. Con­tact­ing the World is an in­ter­na­tion­al Youth The­atre Fes­ti­val, host­ed by Con­tact The­atre in Man­ches­ter, Eng­land and aims to de­vel­op the the­atre skills of young the­atre-mak­ers across the globe. It fa­cil­i­tates its ob­jec­tives by twin­ning a UK the­atre com­pa­ny with a non-Eu­ro­pean one. This year, the Word­smiths will be twinned with the host com­pa­ny, Con­tact Young Ac­tors Com­pa­ny of Man­ches­ter, Eng­land. Through guid­ed work­shops on im­pro­vi­sa­tion, act­ing tech­nique and writ­ing, the Word­smiths have cre­at­ed 50/25, which will be shown at the fes­ti­val in Man­ches­ter.
