The House of Jacqui put on a fashion show with a purpose at the Junior Sammy Group Skiffle Pan Theatre on July 29. The event was held to assist model Donna De Gale- Kalloo with medical expenses. De Gale-Kalloo was diagnosed with cancer and has to undergo chemo therapy treatment abroad. The 43-year-old model has been working in the fashion industry for the past 28 years and was presented with a cheque valuing $15,000, to help in her medical bills.
Six local designers were present to portray their works. Among them were Zadd & Eastman, Larry Rampersad of Matrix designs, Heather Jones, Dexter Jennings of Concept Studio, Daronte and Judy’s.
Much to the delight of the audience, De Gale-Kalloo worked the catwalk in many of the designers’ pieces.
