Eric Feniet holds his award for Best Hotel general manager in the Caribbean.

Eric Feniet, director and general manager at Coco Reef Resort & Spa in Tobago, has been named The Best Hotel General Manager in the Caribbean. The awards are determined by luxury tour operator Tropical Sky through customer feedback via online surveys and comments. Additionally, Coco Reef has been recognised as a top hotel in the Caribbean by Tropical Sky, with the Award of Excellence based on superior service, outstanding facilities and value for money.

Bermudian Hotelier John Jefferis, owner of Coco Reef Resorts, said: “I am pleased that we continue to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations. These awards are significant because they are based on direct guest responses. I am particularly happy to congratulate Eric Feniet on his award for the Best Hotel General Manager in the Caribbean. He is a star and has certainly earned this recognition through his reputation across the Caribbean for superior customer service and his professional, never-say-no attitude and dedication to customer satisfaction.

“Our extremely high repeat guest percentage and the volumes of positive guest comments that we receive are due to Eric’s leadership by example and the building of relationships with our guests. “Eric is clearly a big part of Coco Reef’s success over our many years of operation. Our business is about getting a thousand details right. Eric is a detail man!” A 16-year veteran with Coco Reef, Feniet credits much of his success to his efforts to meet every guest at the hotel personally and to remember their names.

“I have worked with Mr Jefferis for 16 years and he has been an inspiration to me both operationally and with regards to his design ingenuity. His mantra, with regards to recruitment; “hire for attitude and train for skills” works so well for us. A high percentage of our business at Coco Reef is from repeat guests who always comment on the staff’s pleasant attitude and professional style,” he said.
