AS Bryden in Trinidad and Tobago featured one of its Diageo World Brands products, Ketel One Vodka, at the Flair Restaurant on Ariapita Avenue last Thursday. The vodka tasting event featured Ketel One, against two other well known premium brands on the local market, where guests were invited to listen to a brief on the brands 300-year history driven by 11 generations of the Nolet family in Holland, as told by brand ambassador Jamie Garcia.
The tasting itself featured two of the Ketel lines, namely the Ketel One Vodka and Ketel One Citron, which is infused with lemon and distilled from 100 per cent wheat in copper pot stills. The event ended with the guests being entertained by Trinidad and Tobago's star mixologist, Stephon Scott, who in July won the Latin American leg at the Diageo Reserve World Class 2012 Global Final, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
More than 12,000 bartenders from 48 countries competed for the coveted title of the World Class Bartender of the Year. Scott was also the first person from the Latin-American delegation to make it to the finals of the three-day event, where he placed tenth overall. Scott created several cocktails using the featured product with the style and flair of one of the top bartenders in the world.
