Looking forward to a full season of plays, concerts, discussions, workshops, movie-screenings and other events that will fill the weekends at Trinidad Theatre Workshop (TTW) throughout 2013, TTW is holding a series of events to finish off 2012.

November 3 will see the second 100 Thousand Poets and Musicians for Change show, held in partnership with Poetic Vibes. The first took place on September 29; it was such a success that TTW decided to collaborate with Poetic Vibes to stage a whole series. The lineup of performers hasn’t yet been released; the first show featured poets and musicians including Freetown Collective and Marge Blackman.

TTW will subsequently host two other concerts before the end of the year: one, on November 24, will feature Marge Blackman, and another near Christmas will cater to those seeking an alternative type of music to parang. In preparation for its 2013 season, TTW is also holding a series of basic staged presentations of new plays by a range of local playwrights, from some who have had plays produced abroad, to first-time playwrights. Look forward to these presentations in late November and early December.

The workshop is halfway through the current semester at its School for the Arts, where a couple dozen students from ages five to adult are studying. The showcase of the children and teens will take place December 15, and that evening the adult actors graduating from New Actor’s Workshop will perform.
