After being denied hosting the opening of the 2012 National Parang Festival, which it had for the past 40 years, Arimians will still get the opportunity to feed their passion for parang.

On December 8, Randy Glasgow Production will stage the Kings of Soca-Parang in concert at the Arima Velodrome. This show will feature the top soca parang acts, alongside several of the most sought after parang bands from Arima and across the island. Soca and calypso music will also be represented with several top artistes scheduled to also make guest appearances.

The undisputed soca-parang king Scrunter, has already been confirmed for the show and is expected to deliver a concert performance. Also on the billing will be father of the soca-parang art form, Crazy, who will sing his seminal Parang Soca, which was released in 1978, and is considered to be the first song of the soca-parang genre.
