Studio Jay Recording Ltd is launching its Emergence Experience, an initiative the company says brings the region’s creative industries—music, film, animation and fashion—under one umbrella. In November 2011, Jason Dasent of Studio Jay recording was chosen by Caribbean Export Development Agency (CEDA) to represent T&T as part of a sizable Caribbean delegation to travel to Copenhagen, Denmark, to attend WOMEX (World Music Expo).

While there he says he saw a gap in the world music market for well-produced, non-seasonal Caribbean music. It was out of this that the Emergence album, which showcases seven of T&T’s emerging artistes, all from a variety of musical genres, was born. The Emergence experience will be launched at the closing ceremony of the Animae Caribe Animation Festival on November 3.
