The Liv­ing Wa­ter Com­mu­ni­ty will host the Trinidad pre­miere of the long-an­tic­i­pat­ed movie Life of Pi on No­vem­ber 27 at Movi­eTowne with all pro­ceeds go­ing to­wards its min­istry to the poor and un­der­priv­i­leged. This movie by award-win­ning di­rec­tor Ang Lee is based on the best-sell­ing nov­el by Yann Mar­tel and cen­tres on Pi Pa­tel, the pre­co­cious son of an In­di­an zoo-keep­er.

The fam­i­ly and its zoo is mov­ing from In­dia to Cana­da aboard a huge freighter which is ship­wrecked. Pi is set adrift on the Pa­cif­ic Ocean with a ze­bra, hye­na, orang­utan and a Ben­gal tiger, all fight­ing for sur­vival. This film, rat­ed PG in the USA, is a su­perb dra­ma/ad­ven­ture which has won ear­ly raves such as: "a mag­i­cal ad­ven­ture; an in­cred­i­ble film ex­pe­ri­ence; spir­i­tu­al­ly mov­ing; sure to be a clas­sic; un­for­get­table!"

Tick­ets priced at $150 which in­cludes re­fresh­ments, are on sale at the Liv­ing Wa­ter Com­mu­ni­ty Cen­ter, 109 Fred­er­ick Street, Port- of-Spain (623-4677) and from any mem­ber of the com­mu­ni­ty. Re­fresh­ments will be served from 6.45 pm and show­time is 7.30 pm.
