Af­ter sell-out hous­es at the Na­pari­ma Bowl, Ralph Maraj's The Saint comes to the north for per­for­mances at Cipri­ani Col­lege, Val­sayn, this week­end.

The Saint, pro­duced and di­rect­ed by Maraj, cen­tres around Vish­nu Ma­haraj's per­son­al jour­ney to self-dis­cov­ery and the re­sult­ing in­flu­ence on his fam­i­ly and friends.

Vish­nu (played by Maraj) de­cides to pur­sue the spir­i­tu­al path in In­dia but, in do­ing so, leaves be­hind his girl­friend See­ta (Bev­er­ley Ann Se­u­paul).

En­ter Cor­nelius (De­nesh Ma­haraj), who makes a sac­ri­fice to pro­tect See­ta af­ter her life is thrown in­to tur­bu­lence caused by Vish­nu's de­par­ture.

A close­ness de­vel­ops be­tween Cor­nelius and See­ta but be­fore their re­la­tion­ship could flower, Vish­nu re­turns and brings ten­sion and chaos again.

"Each must strug­gle through the com­plex­i­ties of their con­di­tion to find in­ner peace and sta­bil­i­ty," Maraj says in a re­lease.

"How they man­age is crit­i­cal to the ul­ti­mate mes­sage of the play."

The Saint goes on at Cipri­ani Col­lege, Val­sayn, from 8.30 pm Fri­day and Sat­ur­day and at 5.30 on Sun­day.
