After sell-out houses at the Naparima Bowl, Ralph Maraj's The Saint comes to the north for performances at Cipriani College, Valsayn, this weekend.
The Saint, produced and directed by Maraj, centres around Vishnu Maharaj's personal journey to self-discovery and the resulting influence on his family and friends.
Vishnu (played by Maraj) decides to pursue the spiritual path in India but, in doing so, leaves behind his girlfriend Seeta (Beverley Ann Seupaul).
Enter Cornelius (Denesh Maharaj), who makes a sacrifice to protect Seeta after her life is thrown into turbulence caused by Vishnu's departure.
A closeness develops between Cornelius and Seeta but before their relationship could flower, Vishnu returns and brings tension and chaos again.
"Each must struggle through the complexities of their condition to find inner peace and stability," Maraj says in a release.
"How they manage is critical to the ultimate message of the play."
The Saint goes on at Cipriani College, Valsayn, from 8.30 pm Friday and Saturday and at 5.30 on Sunday.
Tickets are on sale at Vanity Fair in Valpark Shopping Plaza and at Nigel R Khan Booksellers in Trincity Mall, Grand Bazaar and Price Plaza in Chaguanas.
