US-based T&T-born film director Damian Marcano will talk with audio-visual industry professionals at the T&T Film Company (TTFC) on September 20 from 2 pm.

God Loves The Fighter, Marcano’s feature film which will have its world premiere at the 2013 T&T Film Festival is set in east Port-of-Spain.
A release from the T&T Film Company said the dramatic film about violence and redemption is one of the most anticipated films of the festival. It stars spoken word artist Muhammed Muwakil of Freetown Collective and veteran actor Errol Sitahal.
“Port of Spain—Trinidad in general—has been plagued by rising gun murder,” Marcano said in a WINTV interview about the “Represent (Remix)” video and its accompanying short film earlier in 2013.
“The areas we filmed in are looked at as ‘hot spots’, but what you find in those areas are very loveable characters…That is Trinidad.”
Marcano who is originally from Morvant left for the US when he was a child. His company Blue Cinnamon Group is based in California.
• The Film Company advises that space at the talk with Damian Marcano is limited. Interested participants should contact them via email at [email protected] or call 625-FILM.
