Rain and parang in Paramin
Rain and parang in Paramin seem to go hand in hand, as the regulars to this event will tell you, “it always rains.”
This year was no different when the Paramin Development Committee hosted the 36th annual Parang Festival at La Finette, Paramin, Maraval. The event featured some of the country’s leading parang groups including Renacer and Los Alumnos de San Juan.
Patrons were not deterred by the rain, as parang lovers from all walks of life kept arriving steadily throughout the evening. Despite the Trinidadian ability to enjoy a party in bad weather, there were complaints from those who felt more could have been done to minimise the inconveniences caused by heavy rain.
Among those seen enjoying the parang and Paramin hospitality were Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley and MP Donna Cox.
