Merrique’s ‘spiritual’ art at Martin’s
Musician, composer, producer and poet Ozy Merrique presents Word, Sound and Colour at Martin’s Piano Bar, 85 Woodford Street, Port-of-Spain, on July 6.
Word, Sound and Colour is a concept and innovative approach to art sharing and exchange, said a release from the organisers. The project will feature a month-long interactive initiative of art, music, lyrics and film, as well as spanking new and not so new pieces compiled over the last three years.
Through this experience, Merrique re-embraces five years of spirituality and his visual muse that he has worked assiduously and exclusively to create. He believes he has a duty to respect and manifest all aspects of his creative callings. Most recently, he has been immersed in his pristine love in acrylic through his visual art. He said: “My role as an explorer of not just new vistas in sound but new visions in colour and light…”
Merrique came on the entertainment scene in the early 90s as part of the duo Homefront, which produced the popular hit, Rollin. He extends an open invitation to everyone to join the experience.
Limited space is available so interested persons are asked to book by calling 622-6405 or 376-8629. The residency will run until September 6 and viewings can also be arranged by e-mailing [email protected], visiting www.flyinggalvanize.com or Martin’s Piano Bar on Facebook
