Since 2009, films from India, one of the "heritage" countries of T&T, have been part of the lineup of the annual T&T Film Festival (TTFF).
This year, at the festival which continues until September 30, four Indian films will be screened. A release from the TTFF said they comprise a touching romance, an historical drama, a social-realist drama and an animated children's film.
Tickets cost $30 at MovieTowne and Little Carib Theatre ($15 for students in uniform and for tertiary-level students with student ID) and may be purchased in advance or at the time of a screening, at the screening venue.
Screenings at other venues are free.

The Lunchbox
Director: Ritesh Batra
2013, Hindi and English, with English subtitles
Narrative feature / 104 minutes
Saajan is a taciturn, middle-aged widower about to take early retirement. Ila is a young housewife caught in a loveless marriage. One day the lunchbox that Ila sends to her husband via Mumbai's celebrated delivery system accidentally starts going to Saajan. Ila and Sajaan begin sending secret handwritten notes to one another via the lunchbox, until the day that they decide it is time for them to meet. Deftly avoiding trite sentimentality, this is an utterly charming and poignant romantic drama.
