Everyone thought it may have been Alia Bhatt in the starring role for the Bollywood version of The Fault In Our Stars, but reports confirmed an unlikely choice for the role: Deepika Padukone.
Alia was thought to have initially been appropriate for the movie since the storyline revolves around teenagers, but the film-makers decided on Padukone for her strong performances. Varun Dhawan was cast opposite Padukone for the remake, which makes this his second international remake after The Intouchables.
The movie is based on the popular novel of the same name which follows the story of two young cancer-afflicted patients who fall in love after meeting at a cancer support group.
And, will this next actor be doing any Hollywood movies of his own? The answer is yes, but he hasn't found anything of interest yet. Hrithik Roshan, whose latest movie Bang Bang, will soon be released, said in a group interview:
"Hollywood projects are always there. I keep getting Hollywood scripts every now and then. I read them, but I have not found anything interesting so far."
Word is, that he received five or six thus far.
#BollyTalks can't wait to see what sort of role he'll finally choose!
