Well, Divali was a happy time for most of B-Town, and an even happier time for one person: Amitabh Bachchan!
"Happy Diwali!! ... and today (Thursday) followers reach 11 million!! Shubhkamanayein! Shubh Din pe shubh Shagun–11 (Good omen on auspicious day)!!!," tweeted the mega superstar last Thursday as he celebrated 11 million fans on Twitter.
Despite his age, the 72-year-old is very active on social media and loves keeping his fans close and informed via his blog and tweets and even replies to individuals personally. Some of Amitabh's followers include the likes of Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla, Hema Malini and other big names.
This Bollywood great has been in the industry for over 40 years but is not fazed by the attention. He said he "is humbled by the love and respect" but notes that stars are just human, "not some divinity ...we seek humaneness."
He even took to his blog, srbachchan.tumblr.com and went on to say: "The love respect and affection that comes without any incursion from other quarters ... I am embarrassed and lulled into thought, why this does occur...and am needing to think that even if I desired an answer I would never get one..."
Bachchan is currently keeping himself busy with the filming of TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
