This month students of the ASJA Girls' College, San Fernando, engaged in a Placard competition highlighting their Environmental Club's theme "THINK GREEN - START AT SCHOOL". The placards were used in the school's 5th annual walk-a-thon which was held on Sunday 13th March, 2011. Teachers, students, parents and the wider community engaged in an energetic walk around San Fernando, as students continue to strive towards environmental awareness and foster student involvement in school activities.
The Environmental Club of ASJA Girls' College, San Fernando, continues to propagate environmental awareness through various activities. These range from entertainment, informative movies on the environment, poster competitions and Club field trips. These activities provide a fun and educational ground for our vibrant and enthusiastic students.
Also collaborating with the Environmental Club was the school's RBTT Young Leader Group. Approximately 45 members of the RBTT Young Leaders Group attended this invigorating walk with the main purpose of educating everyone in the community about the conservation of water because it really is one of the most important and essential factors for our survival. Gabriella Biswah of Form 4, Ivana Lutchman of Form 6 (Lower) and Yelena Lutchman of Form 3 won the Placard competition. We congratulate them.
