This month stu­dents of the AS­JA Girls' Col­lege, San Fer­nan­do, en­gaged in a Plac­ard com­pe­ti­tion high­light­ing their En­vi­ron­men­tal Club's theme "THINK GREEN - START AT SCHOOL". The plac­ards were used in the school's 5th an­nu­al walk-a-thon which was held on Sun­day 13th March, 2011. Teach­ers, stu­dents, par­ents and the wider com­mu­ni­ty en­gaged in an en­er­getic walk around San Fer­nan­do, as stu­dents con­tin­ue to strive to­wards en­vi­ron­men­tal aware­ness and fos­ter stu­dent in­volve­ment in school ac­tiv­i­ties.

The En­vi­ron­men­tal Club of AS­JA Girls' Col­lege, San Fer­nan­do, con­tin­ues to prop­a­gate en­vi­ron­men­tal aware­ness through var­i­ous ac­tiv­i­ties. These range from en­ter­tain­ment, in­for­ma­tive movies on the en­vi­ron­ment, poster com­pe­ti­tions and Club field trips. These ac­tiv­i­ties pro­vide a fun and ed­u­ca­tion­al ground for our vi­brant and en­thu­si­as­tic stu­dents.

Al­so col­lab­o­rat­ing with the En­vi­ron­men­tal Club was the school's RBTT Young Leader Group. Ap­prox­i­mate­ly 45 mem­bers of the RBTT Young Lead­ers Group at­tend­ed this in­vig­o­rat­ing walk with the main pur­pose of ed­u­cat­ing every­one in the com­mu­ni­ty about the con­ser­va­tion of wa­ter be­cause it re­al­ly is one of the most im­por­tant and es­sen­tial fac­tors for our sur­vival. Gabriel­la Biswah of Form 4, Ivana Lutch­man of Form 6 (Low­er) and Ye­le­na Lutch­man of Form 3 won the Plac­ard com­pe­ti­tion. We con­grat­u­late them.
