Re­bec­ca Black, a 13-year-old singer from­Cal­i­for­nia, has found fame and glo­ry from the least­lyri­cal­song ever writ­ten in mod­ern day pop mu­sic. The song and video en­ti­tled "Fri­day" had 3000 views af­ter its first day of re­lease on 11th March, 2011. A week and a half lat­er, I was shocked to see that the video had over 30 mil­lion views on youtube. Apart from be­ing­crit­i­cised as the next Justin Bieber,Clev­ertv.com re­ports that many are crit­i­cis­ing the song as an "orig­i­nal­par­o­dysong" be­cause of its 'lame' lyrics. The song it­self was linked mul­ti­ple times over the past cou­ple of weeks on my face­book news feed, with many of my col­leagues claim­ing it to be ex­treme­ly catchy but still very point­less.

The song geared in pop­u­lar­i­ty as fake spoofs start­ed hit­ting the In­ter­net. One such video was claim­ing that it was an orig­i­nal song by Bob Dy­lan. The spoof song ac­tu­al­ly sound­ed en­tire­ly le­git com­pared to its orig­i­nal. The song was writ­ten for Re­bec­ca Black, by Clarence Jey a record pro­duc­er from the Unit­ed States. He is now a very lucky man since the song has grown in pop­u­lar­i­ty be­cause of its poor re­views.
