Friday Evening - Where de Lime

It’s Friday evening, and you are not too sure where to go with your friends? That last exam was horrible and it’s time to relieve some stress! Where is the lime at though? And do we even have enough money to go out? Well I am about to give you guys some options to lime, for those who might have a small budget and those who might be a little more flexible every now and again.
1. ‘D 45 mins Special Deal Lime!’
When the wallet is very light, and transportation is limited cause none of your friends cannot drive, and parents want you home before the street lights come on. Nothing beats back a fast food lime, even if it is just to share a pizza with some friends and crack a few jokes. Laughing soothes the soul.
2. ‘D Birthday Lime!’
So your friend had a birthday on Wednesday, and some may decide to move the celebration to Friday since Wednesday tends to be a dead centred day for most of us. A simple gesture as buying a cake and some non-alcoholic drinks is enough to get a crowd going. If the funds permit, you might even want to consider going to dinner. There are some fantastic places on Ariapita Avenue and Cipriani Boulevard that offer cuisine as well as fancy fast food (as I like to call it). Many of these restaurants also have dinner along with a show. Each person should have at least $120 to chip in with the bill. Service charge and vat can sometimes be a killer.
3. ‘D Movies Lime’
While most of us may opt to go Trincity Mall on a Tuesday, when movie tickets are very cheap, some of us may be in school. Friday is not a bad day to head down to the cinemas and take in the latest action, or comedy that may be showing. A movie also brings out opinions in people, so even asking for an after school date with the guy or girl that you have been eyeing for some time may not even be such a bad idea.
4. ‘D Club Lime’
If you are of age the clubs can be the best place to dance and interact with new people. It can be costly on an average student allowance, however, most do not mind saving to at least go out to the clubs once a month. It can sometimes be anywhere between $120 and $250. However, some clubs do offer lower prices. Clubs also offer University students free entry, which most take full advantage of. Girls, if you hate drinking, loud music and getting “track” by almost every stranger, the Clubs are not for you - You might prefer the 5th option.
5. The Lounge Lime
There are some very luxurious lounges on Tragarete Road and Ariapita Avenue. Their entry cost is far cheaper than the clubs (on average $40 -$60, dependent on if a mellow rock band is performing, or a soca artiste is making a guest appearance). It definitely entertains a more mature crowd. Of course, you must meet the age requirement to enter. I can assure the girls, that if you are indeed “tracked” by someone, it may be an individual who is independent, handsome and charming, however be aware that half of these times, the guys are broke. These are just some of the options for a Friday lime, however, there are many more. What do you do for a Friday lime? Make sure and share with us. Search: gieMagazine on facebook.
