About Don La Foucade
Don La Foucade is the author of the motivational book IN FULL FLIGHT! He is the former Manager, Social Investment, Corporate Communications T & T, RBTT Bank Limited and was specifically responsible for coordinating the RBTT Young Leaders programme, one of the Caribbean’s most highly successful youth initiatives. He held the position of Secretary of the RBTT Education Foundation, working to implement educational projects around Trinidad and Tobago. Don has been delivering inspirational talks and workshops around the Caribbean since 1999. In 2000, for instance, he put his motivational skills to work during the Miss World/Trinidad and Tobago Beauty Pageant. His passion for inspiring others has developed over the years through his enthusiastic involvement with youth in a variety of social arenas. In 1989 he earned the “Most Disciplined Youth Linker” award for his involvement in a Republic Bank initiative. He has also served as camp counsellor, director and board member of the YMCA. Ever mindful of giving back to his country, in 2009 Don was nominated to the board of United Way Trinidad and Tobago which he accepted and serves on to date.
In the area of Sport, he served as Assistant Coordinator of the Ato Boldon Stadium for the World Under-17 Football Championships in 2001. He also coordinated the annual RBTT Inter Col Football Competition for a number of years and is a Director of the La Foucade Soccer Clinic. Don is also a strong supporter of national culture and has represented various groups over the years having received formal training in Public Relations from ROYTEC. He is also a member of the ODYSSEY CONSULTinc team which is headed by Mr. Anthony Watkins. Over the years, he has been the feature speaker at numerous graduations and similar type exercises for both primary and secondary schools, and has facilitated professional development workshops for secondary school teachers and other audiences including university students and lecturers. Don’s long service in the work of shaping character, resilience and self-esteem in people, and his skill in doing so with a high degree of dynamism and warm-heartedness has earned him the respect of many, a respect which he cherishes and endeavours to live up to daily.
