The jour­ney to 'OUR' suc­cess be­gins with a sin­gle step, not al­ways in the right di­rec­tion. Yes, our suc­cess! It's very pos­si­ble for YOU and for ME! We both have a jour­ney to go on in pur­suit of 'our suc­cess­es' in spite of what our ex­pe­ri­ences have been or are now. If you look again at the word jour­ney, you'll see in­side of it the word 'our' which means that every­one is in­clud­ed. 'Our suc­cess­ful jour­neys' were de­ter­mined long be­fore we could think about them our­selves and I dare say, long be­fore con­cep­tion.Many ques­tion if suc­cess is re­al­ly pos­si­ble at all for them. Some for vary­ing rea­sons don't have the will to suc­ceed. Some feel that it's on­ly for a few, but that's just not true. What makes some­body else bet­ter than you or me? Is he or she more tal­ent­ed? More gift­ed? Is it be­cause they have 'more con­tacts?' We are all meant to suc­ceed in life and our spe­cif­ic gifts and tal­ents are vast and ex­ten­sive. They are wait­ing on us to be un­leashed! Many though don't reach their great­est po­ten­tial. Pos­si­ble suc­cess­ful jour­neys are too of­ten abort­ed for vary­ing rea­sons. Some by choice and some be­cause we don't al­ways recog­nise that we too, can jour­ney to suc­cess. We look at oth­ers be­ing cel­e­brat­ed or gain­ing con­stant recog­ni­tion for their achieve­ments and we won­der at times 'Why not me?' Al­low me to ask YOU...'Why not YOU?'

What will it take to get you to where you can be? Maybe an en­cour­ag­ing word can make all the dif­fer­ence, but in­spir­ing words alone do not guar­an­tee we will be suc­cess­ful. Af­ter the in­spi­ra­tion, there must be per­spi­ra­tion. Af­ter the will, you can­not stand still. A shift in mind must be fol­lowed by pos­i­tive ac­tion. You have to set goals and start head­ing to­ward them. As a mat­ter of fact the word goal starts with 'go.' Short-term, medi­um-term and long-term goals will re­quire even the small­est ac­tion of writ­ing them down to get them ac­com­plished. We can­not sit idly by and wait for 'our suc­cess­es' to come out of the sky and we al­so can­not get up­set when (not if) we face set­backs. As I've heard and con­tin­ue to wit­ness dai­ly, 'a set­back is a set-up for a come­back!'Every suc­cess­ful jour­ney be­gins with a sin­gle step. You may be won­der­ing "in which di­rec­tion?"...and for me the an­swer is up. "I have not, be­cause I ask not!" Look at it two ways: First­ly, what the head does, the body fol­lows, so al­ready we are be­ing led by what thoughts are up­per­most in our head. Quote me on this: "Be­lieve you have al­ready re­ceived all that is re­quired for you to achieve!" It's with­in you, but you can't give what you don't recog­nise you have. The sec­ond way of look­ing at it is we have to look up, be­fore we can rise up. The move­ments or steps must first be­gin in our minds.Sad­ly, many feel like giv­ing up even be­fore try­ing to suc­ceed and when I'm made aware of it, I say "In­stead of giv­ing up, give 'it' up!" Give it up to God and trust that you're not here by chance but by his choice. A di­vine choice that al­ready has a suc­cess­ful di­vine path or jour­ney set out for you and for me. We may jour­ney to­geth­er for a time through dif­fer­ent twists and turns, but I can't achieve 'your suc­cess' for you and you can't achieve mine. We both have to go on in spite of what chal­lenges we face in pur­suit of 'our suc­cess­es.' It be­gins with a step hope­ful­ly, but not al­ways, in the right di­rec­tion.
