Swamped with the growing popularity of Netbooks, Tablets and Smart-phones, the makers of television have been treading the waters for a comeback. In a tactical move LG Electronics – with a stir to becoming 'a true Global Digital Leader' – has launched new technologies in Television. The LG 50? Pentouch Plasma TV is the ultimate experience in viewer-television interaction. A sketchbook, family planner, My Office and Internet access allows an easy interface with the simple use of the 'magic touch pen'. Having an Infinite Surround Sound System, 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, a Razor Frame and Protective Skin Glass, 'techies' would find it hard to resist Dual XD Engine Television!
Alongside the touch-screen are improvements on 3D televisions. The LG 42? Cinema 3D TVs are the 'next generation' of at-home three dimensional television technologies. These include battery free light-weight (16 gram) 3D glasses. Included is a home dashboard option to access a limitless array of 3D content. However, tech-heads still hold their reservations about both bits of TV-tactical technology. Some argue that touch screen capabilities has one getting off the couch to interact with the television, which is not very appealing. Reviewers have also put down at-home 3D, because of the discomfort of having to put on the glasses every time you want to look at the television screen. Nevertheless, innovations in TV are excitingly enticing and are likely to have many putting down their other electronic devices to pick up a television remote control.
