The Na­tion­al Lot­ter­ies Con­trol Board (NL­CB) has spon­sored the Mar­tial Arts in Schools Pro­gramme across the coun­try. The pro­gramme is be­ing con­duct­ed by Ti­tus Acad­e­my of Mar­tial Arts (TAO­MA), a mem­ber of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Karate Fed­er­a­tion (TTKF). Speak­ing to gieMAGAZINE, Chief In­struc­tor, Rod­er­ick Ti­tus, said "The pro­gramme is geared to­ward en­sur­ing that stu­dents re­ceive the much need­ed ex­er­cise, self de­fense abil­i­ty, fun, ex­cite­ment, ri­val­ry, uni­ty, dis­ci­pline and the way of life which Mar­tial Arts has to of­fer". TAO­MA has its head­quar­ters at 19 Church Trace, Tabaquite and its Chief In­struc­tor is a 7th De­gree Black Belt who has been in Mar­tial Arts for over 45 years. He is al­so one of the Tech­ni­cal Di­rec­tors of TTKF with re­spon­si­bil­i­ty for the free style di­vi­sion. Re­cent­ly, a stu­dent of TAO­MA, Odin McMil­lan, re­ceived a gold medal at To­ba­go's in­au­gur­al Karate Tour­na­ment held at Sig­nal Hill Sec­ondary School. McMil­lan is al­so a stu­dent of the Pa­lo Seco Sec­ondary School. The TAO­MA would like to thank the NL­CB for spon­sor­ship of this pro­gramme which holds great im­por­tance.
