Once again, The Libero brings to you the analysis of the Secondary Schools Football League, thus far, for the season. You have all been attending games and supporting your teams but lets us now see where the teams stand in their respective zones.
South Zone
Presentation College San Fernando continues to dominate this zone with six wins from their six games. Striker, Shackiel Henry continues to carry his squad to victory with their most recent win against Pleasantville Secondary (1-0) at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella. Henry is the highest goal scorer in the south zone with 10 goals thus far. Shiva Boys' and St Benedict's had nothing less of an action packed game with cards being handed out like presents at Christmas. This encounter saw goals coming from Quesi Weston from Shiva Boys' and Jameel Boatswain from St Benedict's. Both Weston and Boatswain were eventually sent off in the game.
North Zone
In the North zone, Fatima College defeated Trinity College 5-0 with goals coming from five different goal scorers - (Arvin Prescod, Jamil Young, Leland Archer, Seon Thomas and Jason Mendez). Zonal leader St. Anthony's College was on a bye. St. Mary's College and QRC were held to a two-all draw. East Mucurapo got the better of Diego Martin five goals to two. For East Mucurapo goals came from Aaqil Campbell, Tarafi Williams and Caleb Sturge.
Central Zone
Carapichaima East players were finally defeated at the hands of Chaguanas North by a two-nil margin. Couva West Secondary's Jaffet Williams was the school's lone goal scorer in their encounter against Presentation. They were successful in this game. Tabaquite Composite and Gasparillo Composite were held to a one all draw in the final Central Zone encounter.
East Zone
Arima North Secondary and El Dorado finished with a 4-3 score line with Arima coming out on top. Trinity whipped Toco Composite 6-1. Antonie Auguste, Shaquille Anthony, Tariq John, Jemel Sempel and Akil Modeste scored for Trinity and the lone goal for Toco came from Shaquille Edwards.
Tobago
Finally, in Tobago, Speyside got the better of Signal Hill two goals to one. Shaquille Scott, Brandon Benjamin and Raphael Thomas all found the back of the net in that game.
