Watch your driving force! Before you watch it though you need to know what it is, so let me ask the necessary question... Do you know what's your driving force? What's propelling you to do the things that YOU do? Are you at the 'steering wheel of your life' or are you just mashing 'the gas pedal of impulse' or in other words, just going with flow? Additionally, we must all ask ourselves if we are driven by selfish ambition. Many are not aware that we have 'a driving force.' Possibly because this 'driving force' is something that is rarely seen and if seen, it's hardly ever seen in totality. It can be likened to the driver of a vehicle not being totally in view. There's always some part of the person being hidden and most times, as the vehicle is in motion, unless we are next to the driver, we soon lose sight of what we see of the driver, and eventually the driver himself/herself. Please note also, that being next to the driver does not necessarily mean we can see the driving force within the driver.
The very speed of life itself can make us less aware of what or who is 'behind' us or others. We could be heading nowhere fast, so as time passes quickly by, we need to be aware that our views of life are influenced by external or internal forces, which at times can even see us missing the 'big' picture. It's a fact of life: Either we are seeing things through continued dismal lens, or we are choosing to look through 'lenses of hope'. There has to be 'something' leading us to our ultimate actions or 'something' driving us. It can be faithful obedience to a specific God-given call/goal or it could be that we are moving just on our own whims and fancies. It is critical that we be more aware that we are responding to a driving force voluntarily or involuntarily. It's not always a matter of 'having a feeling' or 'a strong urge to'. Yes, there's intuitions which we can be aware of, but if we respond blindly to them, we could be forced to live with some consequences we are not always prepared for. In other words, we could be driving others crazy or leading others to do what is in no one's best interest. Based on the reckless/mindless actions of some, it is easy to see at times that 'something' undesirable is in the driver's seat. One such thing is pride which comes in very early and is usually so hard to get rid of, because once in, it is fed (fuelled) with more and more pride.
Yes, whatever we feed good or bad continually grows. If we keep fuelling or letting 'the fuel' be what is negative, then our wills are being exercised for negative outcomes. Why not try the reverse? So many others including ourselves can benefit. Be mindful though, that as we seek to do good or do the right things, we must not use force. If we do, that is manipulation which is something we must totally stay away from. A better option would be to lovingly guide or humbly exemplify what is desirable. We can't force anyone to see our point of view or force them to be like us. We are all unique and are all travelling on our specific paths, or on paths specifically designed for us. As we speedily move around, I refuse to believe that any of us truly wants to crash. We can and must sit comfortably secure in our vehicles knowing that there is a greater force than us. We either submit to 'it' (the divine driving force) or we submit to reckless pursuits. We must watch 'it' and be aware of 'it' now because we are constantly being watched by it! If we let go of the steering wheel and just mash the gas, we can't blame the vehicle for where we end up! If we don't purposefully put 'positive fuel' in our vehicles, we could end up not ever getting even a glimpse of the wonderful life-changing destinations that are possible. Just having immense potential means nothing. It must be exercised and applied! It must be forcibly and positively driven! After the inspiration there must be perspiration! Let us always be willing to discover new possibilities! Who knows, we could even discover more intimately 'our driving force!' What's YOUR 'driving force?'
