“Aye bro that’s my car!” I hurled towards the apathetic driver, like a series of well-timed expletives. He acknowledged my claim of ownership by stepping on the gas; the race was on. Keys in hand and arms raised to the sky, I found myself chasing after this now infamous vehicle clad in white.

The passing of Derek Walcott made me remember my early education. I had never met him though there were two possible encounters when I could have had. One was in Trinidad during my Sixth Form Days at Trinity College, then at Melbourne and Duke streets, now at Moka.

The decision by the Government to introduce a bill to abolish trial by jury is receiving mixed reviews.

Friday, March 17, 2017

As a citizen of T&T I would like to express my support for the abolition of jury trials.

As pointed out in recent articles in the print media, trial by jury is a very time consuming and costly affair and usually results in the acquittal of the accused.
