The rank and file of the Police Service, particularly the senior officers, need to start performing. Resources are no longer an issue. The Government has provided and it is now up to the top ranks to make every officer perform. Crime is getting worse every month and the people are crying out for results. Hence the need for a shake-up of the senior police officers.
Performance is key and right now the Government is doing all it can, putting laws in place etc, but the Police Service must come up to speed and start increasing detection rates. Laziness should not be tolerated. Those officers who want to leave should do so. It's not a matter about culture and how CoP Gibbs has to adjust his leadership style to suit the Police Service. It's about doing what needs to be done. The Police Service needs to step up to the plate and start performing. Performance must be the rule, not the exception.
