The people of this country are afflicted with a short memory span. Each time the PNM lost an election, it was because it had squandered our patrimony of two oil booms, on each occasion leaving the economy in shambles. It's policy in opposition remains unchanged, vociferously claiming that each corrective measure introduced by the new Government is unnecessary and a direct attack on the pockets of the poor and middle class. The new Government must constantly remind citizens about the PNM's blatant disregard for proper planning or management and its smug acceptance of the most obvious corruption, which has placed us in our present dilemma.
