In Saturday's paper, the article headed "Sir Ellis always got it right" by Richard Lord mentions that Chief Justice Ivor Archie spoke of the need for the work of Sir Ellis to be researched and captured in the interest of all. I wish to inform the Chief Justice that such work has been researched and captured since 2001.
I have in my possession an authorised biography of Sir Ellis, titled Royal Son of the Soil-the life of Sir Ellis Clarke of Trinidad and Tobago, written by Dr Timothy Seigler and published by ESSE Publishing. Royal Son of the Soil goes indepth into Sir Ellis' life. It tells of his boyhood years, going off to the UK to study law and the struggle he underwent to devise our Constitution. Royal Son of the Soil is truly a remarkable work of not only Sir Ellis' story but the story of T&T.
