Why all the fuss and hoopla about the qualifications of Reshmi Usha Ramnarine for the post she was assigned? I think it is double standards and hypocrisy that forced this young woman out of her cushy job.
What has me incensed is that this has been happening for years and continues to happen. How it happens remains a mystery because there are so many checks and balances to ensure that only those who are qualified get the job. The system of fairness, they call it.
Where I work at Nalis, Heritage Division, there are three people who are in positions they are not qualified for. When I brought it to the attention of the supervisor, she calmly told me that qualifications are of a confidential nature. Well I guess Reshmi did not know that, or she needs to apply to Nalis for a job. I don't think it is fair that Reshmi should resign and those who know they are not qualified for the positions they currently hold are left to enjoy their perks. I am therefore calling on the Minister of Arts and Multiculturalism, who is in charge of Nalis, to set the example and clean up this mess.
Let us be fair!
