Months after the removal of the executive of the Security Intelligence Agency (SIA), the PP Government has appointed a junior employee, a technician as director, albeit for six months. What message is being sent to all those citizens of our country who either have or are diligently pursuing relevant tertiary education and gaining years of work experience.I am reminded of a similar situation under the last administration where the manager–corporate services of the Cepep Company, where the holder of an MBA degree with many years of managerial experience was dismissed by way of a "kangaroo court" and therefore not following proper industrial practices for alleged gross insubordination in promoting two clerical officers to the next level.
This matter is quite rightly being challenged in the courts and at the end of the day the company will probably soon have to pay out at least $600,000 of taxpayers' money for wrongful dismissal.Shortly after the manager's departure the same two clerical officers were promoted, and the manager was replaced by a junior female employee with minimum qualification. Sounds familiar.Plus ca change plus c`est la meme chose. (The more things change the more they remain the same.)
