Wow! That is the first ex­pres­sion that came to mind when I saw the ar­ti­cle in your news­pa­pers with ref­er­ence to Machel Mon­tano in Madi­son Square Gar­den. It was the first time in many days that I ac­tu­al­ly felt proud to be a Trin­bag­on­ian. It was a breath of fresh air from all the sense­less killings and protest­ing that has been plagu­ing our coun­try in re­cent weeks.. What Machel has done for him­self is a great achieve­ment and what this young man has done for our coun­try brings me to tears. As to date I have not seen him reap the re­wards which he so just­ly de­serves. I mean he is still quite young, but what this young man has been able to achieve in his youth­ful years I mean it is just amaz­ing.

The rea­son why I say amaz­ing is sim­ply be­cause we are a small coun­try in a wide uni­verse with all types of mu­sic to date and for Machel, com­ing from a small twin-isle named Trinidad and To­ba­go in the Caribbean, who many in this world have nev­er heard of, and de­spite this still be able to sell out, and I mean sell out Madi­son Square Gar­den, is just an im­mense achieve­ment. Machel, I know you have a lot of nay say­ers and you are not with­out con­tro­ver­sy your­self, but I just want to take this op­por­tu­ni­ty to say to you as a cit­i­zen of this coun­try, thank you Machel for every­thing that you have done, do­ing and yet to do for our beloved coun­try. Thank you.
