Just before the start of the American War of Independence, Thomas Paine wrote "sowing the seeds to stimulate our nation must be done as early as possible, as, attempting to influence people at age 50 will prove unattainable." Is it possible that those seeds sown (in our nation) during the fifties which include the phrase "Massa Day Done," has resulted in the complete lack of respect for authority that exists today? In our little nation surely we can recognise that our boast that we are one nation under one flag negates the possibility of having an imbalance in any part of society.
To attain true harmony we are going to have to start sowing the seeds now so that future generations will grow up to recognise that the race question is not relevant. African, Indian, Chinese, European will mean foreigners, and we will be building a nation where peace and harmony truly exist. So Mr Mohammed has opened the can of worms, what's wrong with that? Let's discuss it and try to move on with building not breaking down our glorious T&T. Let the Police Commissioner report if he is getting the support of all of his force. If not, weed out those who are corrupt and replace them with Trinidadians and Tobagonians who have the Independence of our nation at heart.
