In all that has happened with the destruction of thousands of dollars in food crops, we've heard from the Minister of Housing, the Minister of Agriculture, the Prime Minister and even the Minister of Works and Transport. But with all the furore, where is the MP for D'Abadie/O'Meara who is also the Minister of Sports, Anil Roberts? Minister Roberts must make a public statement and explain his role in the manner in which farmers were treated by the Government.
The Minister of Agriculture has sided with the farmers. The Minister of Housing has refused to apologise. The HDC managing director has called the farmers greedy. The Prime Minister has praised the HDC MD for her strength. The farmers want the Minister of Housing fired. Everyone is basically at odds with each other. But all the while the MP for the constituency has said nothing, has sided with no one and has supported nothing.
It is very suspicious and the farmers must demand that the MP for D'Abadie/O'Meara makes a public statement. If he doesn't, the farmers must ask him what he has to hide and whether he was the one behind the whole mess. Come on, Mr Minister of Sports, we're not hearing you! Whaaaatt?
