Open letter to Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner: Given all the disappointments, mistakes, mis-steps, misgivings, misinformation, misdirections and misinterpretations that have become part and parcel of the People's Partnership administration, it is no wonder that there seems little about which to be positive. I have long come to the conclusion to grin and bear the unfortunate state of affairs. I have, however, found at least one good thing that suggests that we are on the road to recovery and there is indeed a distant light at the end of the tunnel.
I am overjoyed beyond measure to be able to compliment you on the noticeable improvements in the public transport service. My preferred means of transportation these days is "by bus." I must applaud you, and by extension your ministry, on the efficiency and regularity of the bus service. I recognise that these services and programmes are in some cases a mere continuation of the initiatives taken by the former administration. I, however, attribute the vast improvements made by you and your ability to motivate your staff to get the job done quickly and efficiently.
Do not think for a moment, though, that you can sit back and rest on your laurels as there is still room for greater improvement within the system to ensure that our public transport service ranks among the best in the world. Perhaps making available to the public printed bus schedules would be a step in the right direction. Nevertheless, I must give jack his jacket, Minister Warner, and I join with the many satisfied commuters in saying "take a bow" for a job a job well done. You deserve it. Keep up the good work.
