Winston Dookeran, I am sorry to see you leave but you have done the noble thing as usual. I am glad that you did not stick around to have your name and character maliciously dragged through the mud by self-serving “Johnnies come lately.”

For so many years you have been given a raw deal, all because you have stood on principles and integrity. You have never been influenced by money or power but were focused on forging a new politics, a way forward for a democracy of inclusion, integrity and vision.

But as the saying goes, this decision is a blessing in disguise, we now have a perfect candidate for president. You will be a president we can be proud of. A man with all the attributes required of someone holding this esteemed office. I say to the powers that be: Winston Dookeran for President.
