In seeking to make an appointment for the new machine readable passport, I called a number I got on the Immigration Division Web site. The number was out of order. The telephone directory gave me a number for the Chief Immigration Officer and I called and asked where I needed to call to make an appointment for a passport. The person at the other end told me the number had changed and provided a new number. I told her the Web site still had the old number. She replied that the new number was advertised in the newspapers. When, I asked. "Last year," she said. And I'm supposed to find that advertisement?
I told her that people will check the Web site for the contact information, so could she ask the relevant person/s to update the information. To date the Immigration Division still has the outdated telephone number listed on its Web site. Well, if we can't get Web site information accurate, I suppose it doesn't make sense that I suggest they should also be using a Web-based application for passport appointments.
