The residents of St Ann's have been suffering with severe traffic congestion for years and the situation is only getting worse. The problem has many different causes, some of them difficult to solve, others inexpensive to implement and which would greatly ease the situation. I would like to suggest to both Minister of Works and Transport Jack Warner and our representative for St Ann's, Patricia Mc Intosh, that they look at the bridge intersection of St Ann's Road that goes up to Hi-Lo and across to Cascade.
The corner is far too narrow and should be widened and possibly radiused so that vehicles coming down the St Ann's Road and trying to turn left at the intersection do not have to stop and reverse and then go forward again to negotiate the tight turn. Cars that come down from the direction of Hi-Lo likewise block those cars trying to turn into the same road and this problem is dangerous and a constant source of traffic jams and chaos on a daily basis. The solution is simple and relatively inexpensive to fix. Please widen the intersection.
