Tobago has stalled in its development for years, ever since Orville London took office some time in 2001. The island has regressed over the last 10 years. Tobago Hilton is no more, investments are dwindling, such as for the Tobago Cove, as is tourism, the mainstay of the island. Where is agriculture in the scheme of things? The Tobago hospital is still to be commissioned, there isn't a proper bus transportation system, and there is a myriad of other issues that the Tobago House of Assembly seems unable to handle.
In terms of performance, London has failed Tobago. Apart from the practical shutdown of the Tobago Hilton, other developments are suffering, eg Tobago Plantations, Samaan Grove and not to mention small businesses. Tobago is being left behind by Barbados, St Lucia, Grenada and other Caribbean islands which are taking advantage of their tourism strengths. It is a pity to see such a small island which is similar in size to Barbados not as developed as it ought to be. Barbados is the next Bermuda or Bahamas. Where is Tobago? London should stop playing party politics. He must leave the Government of T&T to handle the issues facing Tobago because he cannot seem to handle it.
